JOB TITLE

Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintenance technicians work in the field fulfilling maintenance job tickets to improve the safety and curb appeal of buildings and grounds for our community partners. In this position, you have flexible duties and perform general facilities and grounds maintenance services. You will be challenged to solve problems you encounter in the field and perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, working in the field at different jobs and properties each week. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, and has a strong desire to learn and grow their maintenance and repair skills. Regular business hours are M-F, 7:30a-4:00p.

  • Salary: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts
  • Work Location: Portland/Metro Area

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from our highly skilled office team.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system WorkForce (formerly QuickBooks Time).
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and building occupants.
  • Work in teams or alone

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Comply with all OSHA regulations, and follow all safety, health, and environmental rules and company procedures
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks that require standing, stooping, balancing, lifting and/or climbing a ladder to heights,for tasks such as gutter and downspout cleaning
  • Applicants must not have a fear of heights or confined spaces
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver license and insurable driving record
  • Documents and communicates about work completed such as job tickets, inspection worksheets, change orders, purchasing, and job progress reports
  • Must be able to work both as part of a team, and independently, with little or no supervision
  • Interacts courteously and professionally with all team members, customers, and the public

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in building maintenance or a related field is preferred (1 year).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Good communication skills to interact with tenants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Driver’s License (Preferred)
